Rachel Williams collaborates with the CSCCE team on the Necessary Evil or Public Good Project exploring the dominant, minority and missing discourses in historical and current reform efforts in early care and education. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Graduate School of Education. Prior to Berkeley, she worked in the Public Policy and Advocacy department at Illinois Action. In her research, Rachel studies the political, economic, and historical forces shaping the direction of market-based education reforms and Black intra-racial politics.
