As a Research and Policy Associate, Krista co-authored the 2020 Early Childhood Workforce Index. She primarily contributes to cross-state research on policies related to the early care and education workforce. Krista is passionate about using research to inform meaningful policy change and to address inequities experienced by the early educator workforce. Recently, she led the development of the Compensation Database, which enables states, territories and tribes to share strategies about how to leverage public funds to support and reward the workforce. Prior to joining CSCCE, Krista contributed to large-scale evaluations of policies and programs in education and labor for state, federal and nonprofit clients including the Massachusetts Department of Early Care and Education and the US Department of Labor. Krista holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in Comparative Human Development from the University of Chicago. Krista lives in San Francisco and enjoys making pottery in her spare time.
