This data snapshot provides a rare peek at what parents know about Transitional Kindergarten (TK). Parents are split on the answer to basic questions like “Who is TK for?” and “What kind of learning environment does it offer?”
We use data from a mini-survey conducted by the RAPID Survey Project.
These findings are a great reminder that California needs better data on TK implementation. Policymakers need more information on how districts are designing and promoting TK — and more information on how districts are preparing TK teachers.
