Yoonjeon’s work at CSCCE focuses on the California ECE Workforce Study, which surveys early educators across the state in order to better inform policy decisions that can improve early childhood jobs. Prior to joining CSCCE in 2019, Yoonjeon was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research examines how macro-social factors shape educational practices on the ground, using a comparative and international perspective. Her research in the U.S. focuses on how structural and cultural contexts influence the educational environment of immigrant children and their learning. She is a recipient of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and Society for Research on Child Development (SRCD) Early Career Fellowship (2017-2018). Yoonjeon earned her Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Berkeley.
