Marisa Schlieber

Marisa Schlieber is a Senior Research and Policy Associate at the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment at the University of California, Berkeley. Marisa leads the Center’s work on the Supportive Environmental Quality Underlying Adult Learning (SEQUAL) team, examining early educator work environments. Prior to joining CSSCE in 2017, Marisa Schlieber was an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Southern Utah University. Her specialization focuses on early childhood development and ensuring that all children have access to high-quality early education. Her education and professional experiences have highlighted the influential role of teachers on children’s learning and development, and she is particularly interested in translating research into actionable policy solutions. She has co-authored papers examining factors that influence early learning including characteristics of early child care programs. Marisa holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia.
