The ideal candidate will be available 10-15 hours a week, between the hours of 9 am-5 pm; some flexibility is possible throughout the work-week. Work schedules will be determined by the individual student’s class schedule. Student assistants are responsible for completing and turning in their own time sheets. This position is virtual.  Summer hours are also available!  

For the spring semester, we have two types of needs for work study students on the ECHOES (Early Childhood History Organizing, Ethos and Strategy) project.  

  1. General support for the project involves maintaining our bibliography, data checking, helping to locate historic documents and images, among other tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and build your research skills.  
  2. Web Assistance in updating and producing content for a new landing page on the CSCCE website. Ideally the student web assistant will have some experience in WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud (especially InDesign and Photoshop) or a demonstrated aptitude for and interest in learning new software and content management systems for creating graphs and charts and laying out reports. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and build your design and visual communications skills. 

Additional skills for either position: 

  • Excellent organizational and communications skills; detail and design oriented; ability to take a project and go the extra mile 
  • Familiarity with Google Drive 
  • Some experience with data visualization is a plus. 
  • Responsible and dependable, able to work independently. 
  • Interest in and some experience with academic research projects.
