Prior to joining CSCCE, Tyler began his educational research at the University of California, Santa Cruz working on an inclusive economic policy initiative within the sociology department. This included researching policy initiatives around access and equitable distribution of education at local, state, and national levels. Following, he participated in the UC Berkeley Labor Center’s Labor Summer internship program doing regional workforce policy research in Santa Clara County. Tyler recognizes that quality early education is critical to a healthy, productive society, and that public policy is a vehicle for change. Tyler graduated from UC Santa Cruz, with a bachelor’s degree in History, and a minor in Sociology.
