Liz considers equitable access to high-quality early childhood education programs to be a primary mechanism to closing the opportunity gap for children. Through her work with young children, early childhood professionals, and families, she has seen time and again that access to high-quality early childhood education depends greatly on a well-supported early childhood workforce. She is passionate about advocating for children and educators through the use of research and policy efforts to promote optimal learning and work environments. In 2016, Liz joined the staff at CSCCE, where her work focuses on the preparation and support of the early childhood workforce with a specific emphasis on teachers’ professional development, work environments, and compensation. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
